Ready Set Rescue!

a collaborative program to save more lives

Last year, more than 30 different rescue groups came to ARC for spay/neuter services. Our team cared for more than 3,300 dogs and cats who were on their way to loving homes. ARC is honored to be the spay/neuter resource for so many wonderful organizations.

But we want to do more...

Ready, Set, Rescue!

ARC will offer rescue groups support as they work to save animals from dire circumstances in county shelters. ARC will offer free spay/neuter surgeries and other veterinary care for animals that rescue groups pull from the county shelters that we target.

Through Ready, Set, Rescue!, ARC is recommitting to the spirit of collaboration under which it was founded some twenty years ago

Your donation to Ready, Set, Rescue! can benefit all of the rescue groups in the community who work tirelessly to find homes for the homeless.

With your support ARC will ensure that the call goes out to save the dogs and cats in local shelters who are running out of time. You can help us help the rescues do what they do best. Together we can ease the financial burden that rescues face when they answer these urgent calls.

Ready, Set, Rescue! has already been proven to save lives.

This past July, ARC’s Executive Director got an urgent call from a county shelter out east. After an incredibly busy “kitten season,” the shelter was full and they had just received several beautiful cats but had no place to put them. They had exhausted their list of rescues, as everyone was overflowing with cats and kittens.
Knowing that ARC was working on this program, they called to see if we could help place the cats so they would not have to be euthanized. ARC sent out a few emails letting the rescues know that the spay/neuter, vaccines and medical treatment for these cats would be covered if they could – PLEASE – get out to the shelter as soon as possible. It worked!

Here are the first two Happy Tails of Ready, Set, Rescue!

Cleo

The Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch was one of the organizations that answered the call. Several of the cats arrived at ARC for their free spay/neuter the following week. Gorgeous Cleo was already spayed so she spent the day in the Executive Directors office, telling Mary all sorts of stories about life as a stray! This lovely girl found a forever home within two weeks and is now cherished, as well she should be!

Sasha

Sasha was another sweet soul saved when The Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch made the trip out east. She now has a wonderful new home with Suzanne, Mike and their cat, Tigger. Suzanne and Mike had lost one of their cats and were hoping to find a new cat to join their family. They met Sasha and had a great connection.

Wishing all wish Sasha and her new family a wonderful life together.

The rest of this crew is all primped and pretty and waiting for love!
