Animal Rescue Coalition is a high-volume, high quality spay/neuter non-profit organization. On average, approximately 30 surgeries are performed a day at ARC, and is modeled after the clinic flow standards established by the ASPCA. Additionally, ARC’s programs include low cost surgeries for rescue partners, and low-cost wellness appointments.
The successful candidate will have experience working as a veterinary technician in a general practice or animal welfare organization. ARC is looking for both surgical and wellness experience.
It is the expectation that the veterinary technician hired for this role work to ensure that our patients and their owners have a safe, healthy and stress-free experience while receiving services at ARC. We encourage a candidate who demonstrates outstanding interpersonal communication and the ability to work in a team environment or independently, with a high degree of integrity and accountability. This position welcomes a candidate with a sense of humor who can balance flexibility and enthusiasm and thrives on detail. This position may require flexibility in scheduling with occasional overtime when warranted.
Qualifications:
Able to lift up to 40 pounds. Able to work standing for 10 or more hours. Basic to advanced computer skills, including Excel, Microsoft Office and ClinicHQ. High degree of integrity and accountability, knowledge of spay/neuter operations, knowledge of veterinary hospital protocols and procedures. Must possess excellent customer service skills, as we're expecting this candidate to comfortably and confidently directly communicate education to clients on wellness services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a team environment or independently. Possess a sense of humor that can balance flexibility and enthusiasm and thrive on detail. Possess excellent animal handling and restraint skills.
Preferred Qualification - Licensed Veterinary Technician – American Association of Veterinary State Boards.
Language Skills – English is required, Spanish proficiency or proficiency in another language a bonus.
Education and Work Experience - Veterinary Technician Degree (Associate or Bachelor’s) Veterinary Technician Experience (Spay/Neuter, Shelter Medicine, ER and/or General Practice)
